Quickstart
Get the banner live on WordPress or any site in minutes.
1. Install the WordPress plugin
Zip the wp-plugin directory, upload via Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, activate.
cd wp-plugin && zip -r cookieclear.zip cookieclear.php # WP admin → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin → Install Now → Activate
2. Register your domain
Get a Site ID from the dashboard API (admin key required).
curl -s -H "X-API-Key: <admin-key>" -X POST https://consent.cookieclear.example/api/domains \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"name":"example.com"}'
# {"site_id":"a1b2c3d4e5f6","name":"example.com"}3. Configure the plugin
Settings → CookieClear: paste the Site ID and your API base URL. The banner enqueues automatically on the frontend.
4. Or embed on any site
One script tag — same banner, same consent logging.
<script src="https://consent.cookieclear.example/api/banner.js?site_id=a1b2c3d4e5f6" async></script>
5. Export proof of consent
Every choice is logged. Export per-domain CSV anytime (admin key required).
curl -s -H "X-API-Key: <admin-key>" https://consent.cookieclear.example/api/export/a1b2c3d4e5f6 -o consent.csv
Honest limits
- CookieClear is a consent-management tool, not legal advice. It records and enforces visitor choices; it doesn't certify compliance.
- Banner copy, retention, and cookie-blocking policy should be reviewed with counsel.
- Consent logs are evidentiary — retain per your privacy policy.
